B&G Zeus

Stéphane installing the B&G 12" Zeus onboard classic yacht AMADOUR.
The Zeus is the best available chart plotter on the market in our opinion.
Bright and fluid display, fast and totally interfaceable with other instruments.

It is here installed together with the Simrad AI50 Class B AIS Transponder
All targets can be seen on Zeus display

Teak deck Hardware removal

Removing and reinstalling the deck hardware is probably
as time consuming than laying the teak deck itself.
Especially on some boats of that generation when the decks were
covered with winches, blocks, pad-eyes, clutches etc..
This is as well a good opportunity to renew some of the deck
equipment as winches or hatches.

A new teak deck for Swan 59 GRIMLO V

Tenting the boat in case it rains.Steel fittings bolted onto toerail have been
fabricated to hold the PVC frame work and leave a bit more space inside.

Soon it will be hot in there though.

JP3 Rudder Bearings Service

When a lower bearing is showing signs of leak or salt all around it
is often already too late. Soon it will leak really badly and the boat
will have to be hauled out in emergency.
Rudder should be dropped and bearings serviced, seals replaced every 5-6 years.
Boat owners usually don't do it until it leaks.
It is then very hard to drop the rudder as the bearing is seized with corrosion.
There is then no other choice but to destroy it as it cannot
be removed away from the rudder post
and to replace it to a new one.
